Beach Rules:

  1. Adults must present a photo ID with their Oakland, NJ primary residence (ie. driver’s license or utility bill) when checking in at the Guard House.
  2. Memberships are not transferable. Memberships are valid only for the member listed, and only for the season/year purchased.
  3. Any person showing evidence of any communicable skin disease, sore or inflamed eyes, cold, nasal or ear discharges, or any other communicable disease shall be denied admission.
  4. Any person with excessive sunburn, open blisters, cuts, or bandages shall be denied admission.
  5. Do not enter the water if you are experiencing or recovering from diarrhea or have had any signs or symptoms of a gastrointestinal (stomach) disease in the past seven days.
  6. All children in diapers must wear diapers specially designed for immersion in water (such as swimming diapers). Do not wash out soiled diapers in the bathing water.
  7. Children should be encouraged to use the restroom before entering the water. Immediately report any “accidents” you observe in the bathing waters to a lifeguard.
  8. No animals, except for service animals, shall be allowed on the property.
  9. Glass containers shall be prohibited on premises.
  10. No food or drink is allowed in the water or on the dock
  11. No diving, or rough housing is permitted on the dock.
  12. No one under the age of 13 is permitted on the premises without an adult.  Children ages 13-17 may be admitted without an adult if the Teen Waiver has been completed and submitted to the manager (one waiver per child per season). This includes guests of your teen – a waiver must be completed by the teen’s parent prior to admittance without an adult.
  13. No one under the age of 8 is permitted on the dock.
  14. No person under the age of 18 is permitted to swim to the dock until a deep water test is performed and recorded at the guard house.
  15. No person under the age of 18 is permitted past the ropes with a flotation device.
  16. All children unable to swim should wear a Coast Guard approved life saving vest.
  17. No large flotation devices are allowed within the roped swim area.
  18. All boaters should wear Coast Guard approved life saving vests.
  19. Adults assume complete responsibility for their children and guests at all times.
  20. All persons shall shower before entering the water.
  21. Conduct which endangers the safety and comfort of others shall be prohibited.
  22. Outdoor bathing shall be prohibited during an electrical storm.
  23. Persons suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol shall be prohibited from entering the water.
